Maintaining accurate, complete health care records and reports by monitoring, reporting, and recording symptoms or changes in patient conditions.
Prescribing assistive medical devices and related treatments.
Records all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms Ordering medical diagnostic and clinical tests.
Modifying patient health treatment plans as indicated by patient conditions and responses.
Consults and coordinates with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans Prepares and administers (orally, subcutaneously, through an IV) and records prescribed medications.
Reports adverse reactions to medications or treatments in accordance with the policy regarding the administration of medications by a licensed registered nurse Assesses the patients' ability to do routine daily tasks Assists patients with such basic needs as dressing, eating, and bathing, and encourages patients to do things for themselves to retain feelings of independence and self-esteem Recognizes and manages symptoms, including but not limited to:
cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal, urinary, hematological, musculoskeletal, endocrine, neurological, psychiatric/psychosocial, integumentary, sensory and pain problems.
Prepares equipment and aids physician during examination and treatment of patient Involves, educates, and when appropriate, supervises family/significant others in implementing best practices for patients Direct care provided by licensed practical nurses and nursing aides Performs other position-related duties as assigned, depending on assignment setting Qualifications and Education Requirements Graduate of an accredited nursing program Current nursing license, in good standing with the State licensing board Minimum of one (1) year LTC experience Pass the National Council Licensure Examination or NCLEX-RN.
American Heart Association BLS/CPR ACLS certification Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, physicians and hospital staff.
Basic computer skills.
Preferred Skills Experience in Home Health Care, or Ambulatory Care setting preferred.
Experience in Emergency Department or Intensive Care a plus.
Follows facility and OSHA safety rules and procedures while on assignment Follows facility protocols, rules, and regulations Respects cultural and religious practices of patients Upholds HIPAA regulations Punctual and dependent for assigned/confirmed shifts Cognitive skills as related to the position Professional, friendly attitude.
