50 an hour Position Overview:
The Enrichment and Behavior Tech at CCHS is responsible for ensuring that all animals receive the enrichment and training they need to minimize their length of stay and keep them happy and healthy during their time in the shelter.
The Enrichment and Behavior Tech is key in assisting with all programs as needed Expawditions, Adoptions, Foster, Admissions, transports and Animal care.
Therefore, the Enrichment and Behavior Tech must have customer care skills and enjoy working with the public.
Key
Responsibilities:
The Enrichment and Behavior Tech performs informal behavioral assessment, assists with care plans, oversees play groups, provides walks, meals, enrichment, behavior modification, Out of Kennel time, Grooming, and training.
Training and working with volunteers is an essential part of this position.
Strong organizational skills Superior customer care skills Computer literacy Complete tasks fully and correctly Work efficiently Data entry Maintain medical records Remain professional and composed during difficult situations and discussions Know when to ask for guidance and assistance Treat all individuals with dignity and respect Follow defined protocols, policies, and procedures Follow safety measures to keep animals and individuals out of harm's way at all times Experience with companion animals Computer literacy Must be able to keep up with a fast paced work environment.
Must meet the physical requirements of the job, including lifting up to 50 pounds; frequent stooping, bending, carrying, standing, and walking strong dogs.
Strong communication skills including the ability to speak clearly and listen effectively Ability to use good judgment in decision-making and solution-finding The consistent use of humor, patience, and good will in working with a diverse group of people Education or certification in an animal-related field Valid driver's license Bilingual - Spanish Complete and follow through with tasks started Leave detailed notes for team members to understand important information that may need understanding, additional assistance and/or completion Take responsibility for actions and decisions Communicate appropriate information to appropriate individuals Keep information confidential Proficiency in PetPoint database Fear Free (on-line) Conversational Adoption Webinar PetPoint Trainings Animal Care Dept Medical Dept Front Desk / Adoption Dept Foster Dept Volunteer Dept Additional trainings may be assigned as needed Job Type:
