The Basic Function of this position is twofold.
The Screen Printer's main responsibility is to produce quality printed items and apparel using the screen press machines.
The second aspect of this position is maintaining a productive and orderly work environment.
There will also be times when the Screen Printer will assist other areas within the Company.
Requirements (education, experience, skills, working conditions & physical demands):
Education /
Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent is preferred, not required.
Previous training or experience is required.
Skills:
Strong visual/spatial relations skills are necessary.
Employee must be able to distinguish colors with or without reasonable accommodations.
Being prompt, dependable, honest, thorough, and tidy are also required.
This employee must have good communication skills and be able to recognize and deal with priorities.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed inside of a typical printing shop with low to moderate noise levels.
The employee may need to negotiate congested aisles and work spaces - reasonable dexterity is required.
This position also involves handling solvents and other chemicals common to printing.
The Screen Printer will also operate a manual and automatic screen press and dryers.
Care must be taken not to burn or otherwise harm him/herself.
Seasonal demands sometimes require overtime and/or weekend shifts Physical Demands / Body Positions:
Standing for long periods.
The position also requires stooping, kneeling and crouching.
Use of legs, arms, hands, eyes, and voice.
The employee, at times, may be required to lift or move an object weighing up to 50 lbs.
Occasionally, the Screen Printer will need to hear and speak on the telephone.
The physical demands of this position are typical of those required for any employee to perform the tasks and duties essential to this position.

Daily Tasks Include:
Printing items using manual and automatic screen-printing presses Working with and/or supervising other printers Job set-up including sorting items for printing, image burning and screen registration Read, follow and process print sheets Maintain needed printing materials and equipment Report to supervisor any issues regarding safety, equipment and supply needs Sort, fold and box completed orders for delivery to customer Reclaim screens in the wash-out area and coat with emulsion Assist in other areas of store on an as needed basis Establish and maintain a neat and orderly printing shop Communicate any problems with printing orders to the supervisor and/or sales persons General house-keeping duties common to a print shop or retail store Any other reasonable task as assigned by Supervisor Job Type:
